Animation Blocking for "money shot"

I chose with an emotional shot to focus on character acting and the relationship between the 2 characters. Right away there were a lot of rig issues and strange deformations I notices, These will need to be fixed as I continue with this animation. (main issues with Min's face blend shapes, neck skin weighting problems. Mom also needs skin weights fixed under armpit area)



Lighting Refs - painted over shots from the animatic

- Green/ colder tones, going for a slightly spooky feel (intro sequence) but feels a bit too boring?

warmer tones (ending sequence)

warm tones, a little brighter than above (feels a bit softer)

A mix of cold and warm, more complimentary colours - final pick for the intro sequence


Colour palette idea for Min (a slight 'goth' feel, darker colours to amplify her feelings of loneliness and gloom)

- added slippers for her indoors shoes




further Look dev on Skin

Added:

- roughness map

- freckles

- pores (too subtle?)

- skin patches


Need to Improve:

- further sculpting of Displacement maps (lip wrinkles, undereyes, etc.)

- SSS


I'm still figuring out how to make the displacement maps more visible as it clearly isn't really visible in the current renders.



~Me failing badly at texturing~



definitely don't know what I'm doing lol.

Will try to get more help/ study more on this so that I can actually use these texture maps properly.



oop and also built a new rig. She needs a lot of work done on those skin weights tho

new features:

- ik spine

- bendy limbs
