Introducing our Story:

SYNOPSIS

A college student visits her immigrant family living across the country. As she reminisces her upbringing in her old home/ neighborhood, by a sudden turn of events, she gets abducted by a mysterious spaceship. She comes face to face with an alien creature that taps into her childhood memories of moving place to place, wishing she had a friend to connect to.

THEMES: family, displacement, loneliness, nostalgia

We decided to cut out the siblings and go focus on the main character and her relationship with her parents.

because

A/ there's too many characters

B/ it would make a simpler story

And with that, We started sculpting the main character.

There were some notes about the design being too 'creature' like so I relayed those notes to her to get this design:

I gave her directions to focus on proportions similar to the last 2 designs in these thumbnails and make it more 'humanoid':
